From a baseball perspective, Sunday’s game against the Padres was an absolute disaster. Michael Young had the only Rangers hit of the night, and it came in the first inning. The Rangers wasted a terrific effort from Tommy Hunter, who held the Padres to two runs. What a shame! The Rangers now sit in second place in the AL West, 1.5 games behind the Angels and 1.5 games ahead of the Mariners.

On the bright side, Sunday was Dog Day at Rangers Ballpark! My wife and I took two of our furry, four-legged kids to the game. Kiley and her mom designed Rangers outfits Abby and Libby. Abby (white) was a ball girl and Libby (red) was a bat girl. We were allowed to parade around the warning track prior to the game with all the other dogs who came dressed in Rangers gear. They selected the top 5 best dressed dogs. Although we were not selected (if was fixed!), we all had a lot of fun. It was a very well organized event. Petco and the Rangers did a great job!

The Rangers get set to face the Angels tonight at the Ballpark. This is a big series that has the potential to really help or really hurt the Rangers’ chances of making the postseason. If you are going to games, make a lot of noise. The Rangers need all the help they can get! I thought we had overcome the dry spell at the plate, but after watching last night’s one-hit effort I know we are not out of the woods yet. Hopefully, the bats will come alive this series. If not, it could be a long, hot summer.

One final thought…why has Nellie Cruz sat out the last three games? I know he is in a bit of a slump, but three games? I hope he is back in the line up tonight!

Until next time…

Go Rangers!

Great picture of yall, too bad the dogs didn't win, or the Rangers for that matter. But at least the Angel's series turned out OK!
